Emotional Freedom Technique Norwich
What is Emotional Freedom Technique (E.F.T)?
Emotional Freedom Technique Norwich | If you are looking for an E.F.T. Practitioner to help you to heal trapped emotions, or to learn how to use this technique for yourself as a management tool please read on. Emotional Freedom Technique (or E.F.T.) is a form of counseling intervention that draws on various theories of alternative medicine including acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming, energy medicine, and Thought Field Therapy (TFT). It is best known through Gary Craig’s EFT Handbook, published in the late 1990s, and related books and workshops by a variety of teachers. EFT and similar techniques are often discussed under the accepted term of “energy psychology”.
This technique is a blend of psychology and energy body access (through the meridian points), so that we may connect to trapped emotions held in a very powerful way through the physical and energetic bodies- reframing/healing and rebooting our complete selves. Did you know that recent scientific studies have found that every organ of our physical body holds what’s called memory receptors and so makes you question how much our physical body is affected by these emotions felt/trapped/ blocked as a result. Using E.F.T. we can aid you to do some of the most progressive work you can achieve for your mind and soul to move forward from whatever you need to heal. This can be used to heal past emotions (with a qualified practitioner) or can be learnt as a management tool to access emotions that we are experiencing in the present to help to ‘clear out’ concerns as they happen so they do not affect us at a later date.

What does a E.F.T. session involve with a practitioner?
During a typical EFT session, the client will focus on a specific issue while tapping on end points of the body’s energy meridians.
The session consists of the client isolating a specific emotion or feeling such as ‘I don’t feel confident at work’…rating the emotional intensity of this feeling with Subjective Units of Distress Scale (SUDS out of 10), and tapping through specific points of the body while repeating an orienting affirmation, then we move into a proactive process (which is personal to each client) by looking into the emotion in more detail. We do this by using psychology tools to better understand it’s initial sensitising event/s as we spiral into the echo’s of the energy body to connect to the specific healing required.
Could be How does E.F.T. Tapping Work and what is Energy Psychology?
This technique is new and acclaimed in the energy psychology field. In life we all have ‘learned emotions’ from everything we have experienced. Past events can effect us by leaving ‘echos’ playing in the background and while consciously we may not be aware of these they can still affect every emotion we have today. These negative emotions affect the flow of our energy and can create blocks. EFT allows us to work through these blocks, and shift them out of the body.
EFT is a fantastically powerful tool that can be used on everything, once learned you can use this yourself for life.
Can I learn E.F.T. for self care?
YES!!! I encourage this for everyone, it will give you a tool to use anytime for yourself and is easily applied (please note this is for management of present day emotions NOT for regression or past echo healing for that you need a practitioner to support you). When we suppress emotions we are simply avoiding them, they do not go away they get stored up and this is exactly why so many people end up in therapy. If instead you can learn to use this (and other techniques) as a part of your wellbeing management of self toolkit you can help yourself to positively work with the emotions whenever they arise, leaving yourself in a far more positive place. This is usually just one session to learn, although clients are encouraged to find confidence in the technique and so sometimes (depending on the person) they may benefit from a couple if unsure.
Could be How many E.F.T. sessions will I need?
Everyone is different, we all have our own core beliefs and although they can be traced back generally to a few main belief structures, our unique layers of emotion will guide the requirement. We can talk this through in more personal detail in a free initial consultation – contact me here.
