Emotional Freedom Technique, like Accupuncture without the needles!
What is Emotional Freedom Technique (E.F.T)?
What is E.F.T?
Like Accupuncture without the needles! E.F.T. is a form of counseling intervention that draws on various theories of alternative medicine including acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming, energy medicine, and Thought Field Therapy (TFT). It is best known through Gary Craig’s EFT Handbook, published in the late 1990s, and related books and workshops by a variety of teachers. EFT and similar techniques are often discussed under the umbrella term “energy psychology”.
What does an E.F.T. session involve?
During a typical EFT session, the person will focus on a specific issue while tapping on “end points of the body’s energy meridians”.
The session consists of the client isolating a specific emotion or feeling such as ‘I dont feel confident at work’…rating the emotional intensity of this feeling with Subjective Units of Distress Scale (SUDS out of 10), and tapping through specific points of the body while repeating an orienting affirmation. This process is repeated until the SUDS level is gone, releasing the emotion from this statement.
Could be How does E.F.T. Tapping Work?
This technique is new and acclaimed in the energy psychology field. In life we all have ‘learned emotions’ from everything we have experienced. Past events can effect us by leaving ‘echos’ playing in the background and while consciously we may not be aware of these they can still affect every emotion we have today. These negative emotions affect the flow of our energy and can create blocks. EFT allows us to work through these blocks, and shift them out of the body.
EFT is a fantastically powerful tool that can be used on everything, once learned you can use this yourself for life.
Could be How many E.F.T. sessions will I need?
Everyone is different, we all have our own core beliefs and although they can be traced back generally to a few main belief structures, our unique layers of emotion will guide the requirement.Together we will work through these at the correct pace for you.
Clients will feel benefit from this powerful technique after one session and from there we will work through your individual timeline in and outside of sessions.
